Tardíu 2025, the gastro festival celebrating Cantabria’s products
On October 24 and 25, 2025, Plaza de Alfonso XIII in Santander hosted the first edition of the Tardíu festival, an event organized by Cantabria Quesera and Cantabria Brinda that brought together the finest producers of artisanal cheeses and beverages from Cantabria. More than 3,500 people took part in this gastronomic experience, which combined tastings, a producers’ market, live culinary demonstrations, and musical performances by local artists.
Tastings and Producers’ Market: A Flavorful Journey
During Tardíu, attendees enjoyed a tasting bar featuring local cheeses and beverages, where they could create their own cheeseboard and pair it with a variety of wines, ciders, beers, and spirits produced in Cantabria. In addition, the producers’ market offered the opportunity to discover and purchase gourmet products crafted with the quality and care that define the region, bringing visitors closer to the authenticity of local producers.
Celebrating Cantabrian Autumn Traditions
Tardíu 2025 stood out not only for its gastronomy, but also for celebrating the arrival of autumn in Cantabria, evoking the grape harvest and other hallmark moments of the season. This seasonal focus helped create a warm and festive atmosphere, where visitors could interact directly with producers and learn about the origin and production of the foods they tasted.
A Success That Strengthens the Visibility of Local Products
The first edition of Tardíu demonstrated the growing interest in Cantabria’s local gastronomy and the importance of creating spaces where producers and the public can connect. At Cantabria Quesera, we highlight that events like this enhance the visibility of artisanal cheeses and regional beverages, promote local food culture, and strengthen the relationship between producers and consumers. The warm reception of the festival suggests that Tardíu is set to become a must-attend annual event on the region’s gastronomic calendar.
